The upgradable DOP3000 series provides a solution for ultrasonic Doppler velocity measurement for a wide range of budgets. Starting as an affordable simple instrument it can evolve toward a very versatile instrument through the addition of any combination of optional software packages.

Variable frequency (emitting ultrasonic frequency)...

The basic DOP3000 can only operate at one single ultrasonic frequency that the user has to chose when he purchases the instrument in the range of 0.5 MHz, 1 MHz, 2 MHz, 4 MHz, 8 MHz or 10 MHz. Therefore, the only choice he has left for the transducers he will use is the diameter of the piezo surface. Adding this package enables him to use his DOP3000 at any ultrasonic frequency in the full range of 0.5 MHz to 10 MHz.

Variable resolution (resolution, gate length, burst length)...

The variable resolution package lets the user set the distance between two consecutive gates, as well as the size of these measuring gates. The basic DOP3000 automatically sets its resolution to fine mode or coarse mode depending on the maximal depth of measure selected. The present option package lets the user select any desired resolution (i.e. gate spacing) between 0.166 mm and 15 mm.

Variable gates (number of gates, starting depth - position of first gate)...

Adding this package enables the user to change the number of gates at which the velocity is computed, in order to improve the depth covered by the measure. Thanks to this package, it is also possible to change the position of the first measuring gate, if for instance the velocities close to the transducer are not of interest or are simply not measurable.

Advanced Compute (velocity, echo, energy, v(t), flow, turbulence, history)...

In its standard functioning mode, the DOP3000 computes and displays a velocity profile or the echo profile. This option package enables the instrument to show many more relevant measures that helps to characterize the liquid and its flow. Among them are the energy of the filtered echo, the velocity of a chosen gate as a function of time, the flow across a section of a pipe, the profile of the turbulence of the flow, and a remanence color graphic showing an history of a profile.

Variable time gain controlled amplification (uniform, slope, custom)...

This option lets the user manually set the TGC amplification. He can set a constant amplification gain, a slope amplification (which increases exponentially the gain as a function of the depth), or define gains in up 1024 to user-defined zones.

Advanced Trigger (external BNC)

The smart trigger capability of the instrument loaded with this package allows to synchronize the acquisition to any periodic or non periodic event.

Sound velocity measurement (hardware module + software)...

By using available accessories featured with this package, our instrument can measure the sound velocity in any liquid.

Ultrasonic field measurement (measuring software)...

This software option enables the DOP3000 velocimeter to measure the ultrasonic field generated by a transducer connected to the probe in/out connector.

Advanced recording features (new powerful set of recording options)...

This software package enhance the built-in recording features of the DOP3000. It provides powerful editing and processing of the data to be recorded.
